Mike Hsu
Mike is the proud father of Mia, Isaac and Calvin and has been married to his beloved wife Tanya since 1995. Mike graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in 1998 with his Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) and from Covenant Theological Seminary with his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) in 2017. Mike was ordained as a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America in 1999. Mike, Tanya and their adult kids are dual citizens of Canada as well as the US. Having been a child of immigrants from Taiwan, for Mike, home is where the Lord takes him with his family. Mike feels as much at home in Vancouver as he has anywhere he has lived. He loves being a Canadian as well as an American and longs for the day when all nations will be reconciled as one under the banner of Christ.
Mike is a shepherd at heart and loves inviting people into seeing that the whole of life is a call to follow Jesus, to be a steward of God’s varied and abundant good gifts (1 Pet. 4:10). Mike enjoys spending time with his family, his bernedoodle Otis, cat Leo, stays active with skiing, basketball, triathlons and has a wonderful gym community as well. Mike also enjoys the occasional beer and fine cigar. From childhood as well as the travels of his immigrant parents, his favourite sports teams are the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawk basketball (Go Chiefs! Go Jayhawks!) Above all, Mike is eternally grateful for all that Jesus has done for him.

Abel Sisco
I am from a faraway land South of the border that occasionally reveals a twangy inflection in my speech. I am married to the beautiful and brilliant Misha. We have 3 boys who—among other things—are 3rd generation Auburn Tigers fans (university sports in the US). I have been a Vancouver Canucks fan since 1993.
I love learning more about B.C. and Canada every day. My playlist goes from Bach to Kendrick Lamar, but if you scooped out the deepest part of my soul, you would probably find an 80’s New Wave core.
Office Administrator
Tanya Hsu
Tanya was a stay-at-home mom of three for 20 years who happily fell into the job as the Office Administrator. She finds the job suits her well as she enjoys connecting with people, has a heart for helping others, and finds great satisfaction in detail and order.
When Tanya is not in the office you can find her digging in her garden, rearranging furniture in her house, taking short travel excursions with her husband, Mike, and delighting in any time spent with her adult children, Mia, Isaac and Calvin.
Pastoral Intern
Justin Yeung
Justin is a native Calgarian who was raised in a Chinese-Canadian Church. As the Pastoral Intern, Justin is eager to serve God’s people and to learn how to shepherd from the Pastors and Elders at GVC. Justin moved to Vancouver in 2024 to study for his MDiv at Regent College. He also serves on staff with Power to Change at UBC, where he enjoys cultivating discipleship relationships with undergrad students and empowering them to live on mission. Justin loves helping others engage with the Christian Scriptures to encounter the love and grace of Jesus.
Aside from ministry and studies, Justin enjoys eating delicious food, drinking specialty coffee and working out. You can often find him reading a theology book and enjoying a pour-over in the many cafes in the Vancouver West End.
